STEM

It is widely recognised that society is being transformed by innovations in science and technology and it seems certain that this trend will continue for the foreseeable future. Globalisation brought about through the ongoing revolution in digital technology is having a major impact on all aspects of modern life, including the way we live, work and play. This is particularly relevant in the area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

At Northam Primary School, we embrace STEM and it’s emphasis on creative and critical thinking. Our teachers have been upskilling themselves, and this has seen the introduction of the STEM funnel into classrooms.

Term 3 is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge in this area on our STEM show case night. The aim of the STEM showcase is to generate students’ interest, enjoyment and engagement with STEM and to encourage  ongoing participation in STEM at school.
