Science

Science at Northam Primary School incorporates  the three strands Science Understanding, Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry Skills.

The program loosely follows Primary Connections in order to scaffold the various learning styles and needs of students. The four disciplines of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are included, and assist the learning of problem solving, teamwork, creativity, critical analysis, initiative and communication. Such involvement allows students to adapt and succeed in an ever changing world at school and thereafter. Biological sciences, chemical science, earth and space, and physical sciences are spread throughout the year, allowing ten weeks for each area.
